Motivational Monday – Don’t miss out because of fear!

Motivational monday header

You guys should know me well enough by now to know that I’m probably with no exaggeration the worst worrier known to man, seriously I worry/over think every possible situation weather it be something small and superficial like weather my make up will go well for a night out or bigger life events e.g where I’ll be in five years from now.

I can always remember at school I was forever getting myself in a state because I’d say yes to a trip, a presentation or some sort of speech and then end up spending night after sleepless night talking myself out of it and saying no at the very last minute. Teachers and people at school used to get so mad at me because at times it came across like I was just being a let down or trying to be difficult when really it was all just down to me being so nervous and worried that I’d mess up.

I always hate feeling like I’ve let myself and others down so this was like a vicious circle for me, on one hand I couldn’t go through with things as I’d make myself sick with worry but on the other hand missing out on valuable experiences while letting others down made me just as sick. One experience that always still to this day sticks in my head is when I was about 16 I got offered the opportunity to go to Canada for two weeks to represent my school in a schools council forum, I know it sounds crazy who else would turn down the chance to go to Canada with everything paid for right? but at time the time I hated being away from home and I’d told myself I wasn’t good enough to go.

I’d love to say that as I got older and left school it got better but sadly it never, I’ve lost count of the amount of amazing experiences and things that could’ve furthered my dreams I’ve said no to or missed out on all because I was too scared to pursue them. It’s only in the last year though that I’m honestly beginning to realise that if I keep letting fear and anxiety control me then I might miss out on some of the most amazing days and times of my life, I’d absolutely love to travel more and I kick myself everyday that I didn’t take the chance to visit Canada which is the main reason I’m writing this post.I don’t want you guys too look back on your life at missed opportunities with regret because yes life can be scary and we all have fears but we should never let them fears control our lives and how amazing they can be! so from now on I’m going to go out there (even if I am filled with anxiety) and grab life with both hands and you guys should too because life is for living! ❤

Motivational Monday – Positivity only!

Motivational monday header

The title of this post is probably slightly misleading as it says positivity only, I don’t realistically for one minute think that any of us can go through life and be 100% sunshine and rainbows. We live in such a face paced world nowadays that it’s so easy to get dragged down by the daily grind of things, weather that be smaller issues like having a bad hair/make up day, getting up late or bigger things e.g work, bills or family struggles having a bad day from time to time is inevitable.

The truth is though that no matter how many struggles life throws at us and how hard it gets, only you are in control of your own happiness. Everyday when we wake up we have a choice weather to see the positives or focus on our problems and be negative, there is a quote that I love and it goes ‘Positive mind, Positive vibes, Positive life!’. Both good or bad vibes are infectious and I don’t know about you guys but I’d rather radiate and spread love and good vibes than be a negative person.

You guys will know from previous posts that I have suffered from depression for a huge part of my life so I completely understand that it’s not always easy but recently I’ve been trying to live by this quote. There are so many beautiful in this world that we so often overlook weather that be how beautiful the sunset is, how cute your baby niece/nephew are when they smile or how pretty the scenery around us is . I’ve truly began to realise now that you can’t live a positive and happy life if you keep being focused on the negatives or surround yourself with negative people. So if you have people around you who thrive off negativity you should lose them, if you see something you don’t like online just keep scrolling and when you wake up every morning promise yourself that you will try to see the beautiful positivity in that day.

You’re all beautiful, special and talented people who deserve the most positive, happy and amazing life so go out and spread that positivity wherever possible because life is too short to be negative or hurtful.

Motivational Monday – Love yourself!

Motivational monday header

Any of you guys who follow me on any of my social media will know how much I love a ‘selfie’ almost every other picture on my Instagram or Facebook is a posing picture of myself. Sadly though it seems that there are certain people that have to pass judgement or leave a ‘Bitchy’ comment on absolutely everything, I get told on a regular basis that “I’m so vain” or “Wow you love yourself”. Now I can’t lie there was a time that if someone would make a nasty comment about my pictures then I’d take them down or get really upset but as time passes it really doesn’t faze me.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m not the kind of girl who does my make up/hair everyday, most days I can be found slobbing around in my pj’s looking like an absolute mess. On the days when I do wear make up or make an effort then like I’m sure a lot of people do I take about 1000 ‘selfies’ and plaster them everywhere I possibly can. So last week when I was filming with Fixers and I thought I looked pretty, I uploaded a picture and shortly after I received such a lovely message via Facebook that said ‘Oh my god you love yourself don’t you? Just stop!’

If this would of happened a year or so back then I would’ve felt horrible and automatically felt the need to blindly defend myself but this time my reply was ‘Yes I do, thank you!’ because the thing these people who throw comment don’t realise is, like a lot of people I’ve spent a huge chunk of my life wishing I could change myself weather that be my disability, my scars or my stretch marks, now though after years of disliking myself  I genuinely do love myself not in a I’m better than anyone else or I’m Liverpool’s best looking women kind of way but I honestly am learning to love who I am, my flaws and everything I stand for and why shouldn’t I, Why shouldn’t we all?

It’s actually so sad that we live in a world where people seem to try and make themselves feel better by being hurtful towards others and can’t stand it when they see someone who’s confident or happy. why are we made to feel bad because we’re happy with ourselves? We seem to be told at every turn how we should look or act weather that be lose weight, gain weight, change your hair, cover your scars or stretch marks but why is it seen as so bad to just love who we are? flaws and all. We should love every last bit of ourselves no matter what shape or size we are, no matter how many scars or stretch marks we have. Learning to love yourself both inside and out is a beautiful thing so the next time you think you look fierce and you want to upload 900 ‘selfies’ then do it you gorgeous people, do it with pride because you’re beautiful both inside and out! ❤

While doing my usual random searching on the internet for blogs, I stumbled across and as soon as I read her blog I knew I had to take part in the amazing campaign she is running, I wanted to be a part of it and support Chloe in any way I could to spread the word. Sadly these days the television and media seems to be filled with sad news and negativity so it was a refreshing change to see someone actively trying to spread some happiness, so please go and check out @chloesconcept and give her the support she deserves!

What is the ‘Take Back What’s Yours’ campaign all about?

The ‘Take back whats yours’ campaign incorporates everything I love, It is all about positivity, support, happiness an love!  The aim of this campaign is to encourage people out there who may be struggling due to depression, anxiety, bullying, illnesses or people who just want to make positive changes, to take that step and choose to ‘Take back whats yours’ e.g you may want to be confident, happier, or anything you may want to change to make yourself happier. This is a brilliant idea that encourages people everywhere to work together to make positive changes to the world, by taking back something that was once thiers and regaining the happy and fulfilled life they once had. You can take part in this campaign at anytime, this isn’t your usual one hit wonder you know the type like the January diets that last a week. This is the type of idea that I truly believe with the right kind of backing could really make the positive changes Chloe is hoping for but with 2015 fast approaching what better time to finally make the changes you want too and start the new year as you mean to go on and become a happier, more positive person you deserve to be.

Why I’m choosing to take part?

Motivational Monday – Focus on the positives 👍

After my ‘not so’ Motivational Monday last week and a rubbish few days, I went away done some soul searching/quote reading and I’m back too bring you all some motivation on this lovely Monday.

In a world that can at times be so full of sadness and pain it’s easy too see how people can become wrapped up with life’s struggles and stresses e.g paying bills, working, family troubles and forget all about the good things they have. I’m probably one of the worst culprits when it comes to overthinking or worry,  so when I saw the quote above I thought to myself when was the last time I just stopped what I was doing and counted my blessings? With that in mind I thought I would use this post to take some time out and list down the things I’m most grateful for so here goes!

Things I’m grateful for?

Loved ones

My dog

Cups of tea

It’s almost Christmas

So there it is my small list of things I am grateful for,  weather you have one or hundred and one things on your list try to wake up everyday and be thankful for the positive things you have in your life. Maybe to you your positives may not seem much but I’m sure too some people they would mean the world!

My nanny always used too say ‘ There is always someone worse off than you’ and this is something that I try to remember when I’m feeling down in the dumps, I may not have a perfect life but I’m blessed with the things I do have.

So what are you guys thankful for? Let me know in the comments below. Lets share some positivity!
💜 ..Positive Mind..Positive Vibes..Positive Life!..💜

Motivational Monday – Chase your dreams!

What are your dreams?

Everyone has dreams don’t they? I for one have lost count of the amount of dream jobs I wanted to do when I was younger from the ordinary ones that every little girl seems to have like a princess or a super famous pop star to the more original ones like the time I went through a faze of wanting to be a crime scene investigator.

If I was being a 100% honest though my lifetime dream was to become a dancer but obviously that never happened,  I was silly enough to think that my dreams were too big for me and I let them pass me by. Recently though I’ve had a lot of time to think and its made me realise that if I have a dream or a passion then I should at least try to make it happen because I have nothing to loose and a hell of a lot to gain!

As you will be able to tell from my previous posts I’m big on quotes and listening to motivational videos, earlier this month I found the amazing Les Brown on YouTube and have been listening to his motivational speaking daily. Les brown is one of the best motivational speakers I think I’ve ever heard, his voice just grabs you and his speech’s make you so determined to get out there and chase you dreams!

Listening to motivation and meeting some amazingly strong people since making this blog has give me a kick in the right direction that I needed to truly realise my dreams and have helped me gain the courage I need to begin to chase what I really want in life.

So I’m just writing this post to let you all know that no matter what your dreams are big or small then you achieve them. You should never let small minded people tell you that your dreams are too big!

If you want to be a superstar you can!

If you want to be an astronaut you can!

If you want to be a teacher you can!

Go check out Les Brown on YouTube and start making your dreams a reality!

if you can believe it you can achieve it!

Labels are for tins not people!

I don’t own this image

‘Labels are for tins not people!’

I found that quote online last week and it really struck a cord with me. The world can be full of judgemental, small minded people who feel the need to put labels on everyone they meet.

Sadly just like so many others I’ve spent alot of my life being labelled by small minded idiots who dont have the first idea about me or my life! Fatty, four eyes, mong and the list goes on! What makes me upset is not any of these names but the fact that for a huge part of my life I  did let these narrow minded people get to me, I was so worried about what people thought of me and because of that I spent far too long being afraid of being myself.

No matter who you are in life  you will get a label, if you’re over weight then you’re fat, if you’re too thin then you’re anorexic it doesn’t matter how  genuine or nice you are in life someone will feel they have the right to give you a label and try to fit you into this little box but who has the right too judge? What makes these judgemental people so perfect?!

Are you perfect if you’re confident? No because then apparently you’re cocky! how about if you’re clever? No then you’re a geek! And I could go on but what I’m trying to say is why do we need all these labels?

To be honest though I wouldn’t even say that it’s the labels that get too me most, it is more the fact that I’m convinced the people who throw out these nasty judgements like they’re nothing, really don’t take the time to realise how thier words can hurt people. My nan always used to say ‘If you haven’t got anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all’. So think before you speak because nobody should have the right to make another person feel less than they are!

Like the quote says ‘Labels are for tins not people’ and for me that is so true! You are just yourself and that should be more than enough for anybody! The people who care don’t matter and the people who matter don’t care so go out and show the world what you’re made of! Don’t let other people’s opinions or dodgey labels get in the way of you being yourself.

You were born an original, don’t die a copy! 👏
